Abstract
This article is devoted to the analysis of the current state of tourism in the Western districts of the Stavropol territory. The study suggests that tourist and recreational potential of many Western areas is not used in full. The evaluation of the tourism potential gives a sort of "static" picture of the development of the tourism industry in the Western region.
