В статье обосновывается значение интеграции научно-исследовательского, образовательного потенциалов региона в целях развития современной пригородной зоны. Приводится оценка потенциала инновационного развития территорий пригородных зон Южного федерального округа России, даются рекомендации по повышению научно-исследовательского и образовательного потенциалов.
