Abstract
The paper contemplates phonosemantic features of the poetic text. The author is interested in the phenomenon of sound symbolism and the role of phonemes in creating colourful images. This research wascarried out on the poems of Edith Louisa Sitwell. The article refers to the relatively new field of psycholinguistics – lingvopoetics.
