Abstract
Some features of the technology of chip production are discussed. As auxiliary technological operations material handling round timber and sorted by length is considered. These two auxiliary operations in practice are combined, using the so-called roller conveyors with windows for short logs. The article raised the issue of the critical angular velocity of the roller conveyor roller.
