Abstract
The article investigates the attitude of American press towards the Ukrainian crisis and the rhetorical ways of expressing it. It also analyzes the features of linguistic expressions used in the publications of «The New York Times» and «The Washington Post». The research demonstrated journalists’ emotionality and prejudgement. Such coverage reflects the views of the government and has its impact on the public consciousness.
