Abstract
Ancient Greece has had an enormous amount of impact on the formation of pedagogical thinking. The ancient Greeks made profound contributions to the theory of education, developing its basic concepts. Surely these concepts are still relevant. The issues of children's cognitive development follow directly from the understanding of the child's personality. Hence the ancient Greeks' legacy may assist greatly in matters of teaching practice. This article deals with significant contributions the ancient Greeks had made to the development of pedagogical thinking.
