AbstractIn article the initiative group "Elections-79" created in 1979 in Moscow is considered. Group "Elections-79" included 25-40 people (V.V. Sychev, V.G. Baranov, L.G. Agapova, V. Solovov, etc.). The group made the statement for intention to propose own candidates for elections to the Supreme Council of the USSR who will be on March 4, 1979. Group "Elections-79" had no human rights character literally of this word. Practice of group consisted in intention in the attendance way to realize guaranteed by the constitution, but monopolistic appropriated by the power, the right for promotion of candidates for elections to the Allied Supreme Council.Keywords: elections, group "Elections-79", opposition, policy, USSR
