Abstract
The article considers the notion of competency model and its interrelation with the system of personnel management. Parsed the notion of competencies and its fundamental difference from the classical set of knowledge, abilities and skills. The definition of the concept of competency model and key competencies. Determined the structure the competency model, as well as the rules of forming and using behavioral indicators in the description of competencies. Highlighted some features of the development of competencies that must be considered while using it in the enterprise. In the final part of the article examined the relationship competency model with different areas of personnel management system.
