Abstract
This article contains a review of J.G. Herder`s and P.A.Sorokin`s works broaching a subject of love in the culture development context. J.G. Herder was the first who attempted to analyze the love phenomenon, to assess an impact of love on the culture. P.A.Sorokin introduces into practice a concept of unselfish love energy which in his opinion is the only power able to import harmony in the world.
