Abstract
This article deals with occasionalisms and their functions in the novel "Neverwhere" by N. Gaiman (1996). Words in a context may acquire additional lexical meanings, they're frequently used as expressive means. The usage of occasionalisms provides the author with the opportunity to maintain a unique writing style.
