Abstract
Concentration of nitrogen oxides NO and NO2 and reactive oxygen species can be determined using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). This is rather fast method of analysis, it does not require reagents and has a high sensitivity. The essence of the phenomenon of electron spin resonance is the resonant absorption of electromagnetic radiation of unpaired electrons. The sensitivity of modern EPR spectrometers reaches 10-9 mol / liter under optimal conditions of registration. However, the sensitivity of electron paramagnetic resonance does not depend on the density of the sample, and depends on the amount of free radicals in the sample. Thus, increasing the pressure in the capsule with the studied air of N times, we are increasing the sensitivity of the method of N times (or we can use cheaper spectrometer with a lower resolution).
