Abstract
The issue of choosing the right strategy for the modernization of Russian regional development involves many questions of different levels of importance, paramount among which is the active promotion of innovation, more efficient use of entrepreneurial potential, especially medium-sized businesses, reducing corruption and administrative barriers to enterprise, the right choice of national and social policies aimed at reducing social and ethnic tensions in the country.
