Abstract
In this paper the student theatre is viewed as a means of forming the socio-cultural environment of a higher-education establishment, the author also reveals some peculiarities of a student theatre as a mode of arranging the socio-cultural activity of students from pedagogical higher-education establishments and forming their general cultural, general professional and professional competencies.
