Abstract
The article provides a comparative analysis of physical activity and adaptive capacities of rural schoolchildren in the Nizhny Novgorod region compared to urban children and adolescents. Re-vealed that rural schoolchildren are different from schoolchildren in urban schools, especially in terms of the functioning of the cardiovascular system. Morphofunctional characteristic features of adaptation testifies to the growing tension index of rural schoolchildren stages of the development of the individual in contrast to the children of the metropolis, within the limits of the physiological norm.
