Abstract
The author analyzes the role of poetry in the development of Russian nationalism in the 1970 - 1980's. Under the conditions of existence of the authoritarian regime in the Soviet literature was one of the few forms of expression and the development of Russian identity. Russian poets cultivated set of myths associated with the uniqueness of Russia.
