Abstract
This article reviews the condition of the archaeological sites of the Altai of the Early Iron Age and Analysis of threats confronting them. We pay particular attention to the problem of preservation of the Frozen Tombs of Pazyryk culture. The study of the Frozen Tombs of the Altai Mountains has brought to humanity important information about the DNA of people of the I millennium BC. According to the author, the Rus-sian authorities need to urgently take concrete steps to prevent the destruction of monuments of Altai as a result of human activities and natural processes.
