Abstract
The study analyzed the effectiveness of attracting foreign investments into the Russian economy. With the help of statistical methods formulated problems hindering the growth of the volume and improve the quality of foreign investment in the Russian economy. In particular, it identifies the following problems: the deterioration of the quality of foreign investment, the growth of regional imbalances in the economy, overt and hidden administrative barriers and corruption. On the basis of the correlation analysis are ranked the factors motivating the influx of foreign investors in Russia. Analysis showed strong correlation between the inflow of foreign investment and the real estate market, the growth of investment in innovation and fixed assets. Laid down the principles which should guide the development of the state investment policy: the principle of strategic unity, the principle of decentralization, flexibility, transparency and stability.
