LINGUISTIC RESOURCES IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SOCIAL MOVEMENT (THE CASE-STUDY USING THE KEYWORD ANALYSIS)

AbstractIn this paper on the base of the example of the protest movement "For Fair Elections" (Russia, 2011-2012)we demonstrate the role of language in the construction of a social movement. We use keywords analysis, related to the qualitative methods of analysis of social information.
The texts produced by the movement, constructed on the basis of regular rhetoric, as it has well-established social meaning. And all adult members of society perceive it. This is due to the mobilization of aspecific part of the public, which is potentially ready to unite. On the other hand, a social movement is determined by the language. The movement is constructed by means of the production of statements about the identity of the participants, their opponents, goals, values. Language practices are the main part of the social practices of the movement.
The conclusions of the article can be applied to the study of social movements different level and genesis.
