Abstract
The term functional-cost design is becoming more fashionable word is used in the construction industry. This study was conducted to compare the true concept of the functional cost of designing so that practitioners understand by the term.
Established by comparison study of various books and publications for the identification and isolation of a formal concept of the functional cost of designing.
Current perception and the use of activity-based costing design have been established through a questionnaire. Participants in this survey were people of various professions of the construction industry, which gave detailed answers based on their knowledge and experience related to the design of the functional cost.
