Abstract
The phenomenon of duplicity is interpreted as a fiction reality element shedding light on text axiological dimension, its polyphonic organization and semantic diversity. The article reveals the deep semantics and textual and poetic functions of the analyzed phenomenon determining its multidimensionality while realizing in the text. The duplicity typology is offered which is based on taking into account the author and character images.
