AbstractThe following article is dedicated to the review of theoretical and methodical approaches to the research of comparative advantages in international trade. The essence of the economic category “comparative advantages” and economic theories considering comparative advantages as a necessary attribute of international trade are generalized. Methodical approaches to the definition of comparative advantages in international trade are highlighted.Keywords: Balass's method, comparative advantages, similarity method, the rudimentary model, the theory of comparative advantages
