Magtymguly is a champion of giants, a preacher of stability and unity. The creativity of the poet is deep and multifaceted. For centuries, the Turkmen people have considered it a sacred duty to protect and be loyal to their Motherland. Indeed, even in this context, there is probably no poet or writer who did not speak about the Motherland and did not create a work. The period in which the master of eloquence lived was a period in the history of the Turkmen people. That’s why the poet, who is in harmony with the fate of the people, who has shared its pain and sweetness, dreamed of “Powerful State” and “Independent State”.

Pyragy ýüz tutar, türkmen iline,

Duşman gol urmasyn gyzyl gülüne, [2, p. 42]

Pyragy, yşka ugraşdym,

Derýa girdim, möwje düşdüm,

Hor galmasyn puştba-puştum,

Berkarar döwlet istärin.  (“At istärin”) [2, p. 147]

As can be seen from these lines, the poet’s highest dream is for the people to have a united, free and powerful state. He does not just dream of a powerful state. He is looking for ways to realize this dream of the Turkmen people to become a united state. When it comes to loving the country and living with the problems of the country, Magtymguly’s own family – his father and brothers – was a model school for him. Especially in the matter of becoming an independent state, the services of the poet’s father Azadi and his brothers are great. Magtymguly’s poems “Bular gelmedi”, “Gözlär men”, “Terk eýleme bu mekany” are about his brothers Mammatsapa and Abdylla, who sacrificed their lives in the interests of the nation. Magtymguly erected a great monument to his wise father, the great master Doveletmammet Azadi, by making a poetic image of him. The poet respects his father very much. Because he reaches the depths of perfection by following the footsteps of his father Azadi. He also learns from his father to talk about the country with love. By following his father’s example of creativity, science, and life, he realizes the need to learn the truths that have become his problem.

The poet learns from his master to love the day, to think about the era, about the strong state, about the Motherland, to think, and even to dream. The national leader of the Turkmen people, our Hero Arkadag, said: “Magtymguly Pyragy, a true patriot of the beloved land and its passionate worshipper, dreamed about the unity and integrity of the people, the freedom and happiness of the Motherland hundreds of years ago in his poems ” [1, p. 32].

Looking at the history of Turkmen literature, it can be seen that the theme of patriotism was the main theme in all periods of the history of literature. This is indeed the case. In the works of Magtymguly Pyragy, the theme of patriotism is one of the most elaborated themes. Not only in the poet’s works, which praise the mountains and plains of the Motherland, and call for its protection, but all his creations are devoted to the idea that loving the country, serving the people and the Motherland is the greatest duty of a person. Because for the country to be strong and powerful, first of all, a strong, united family, a perfect generation is needed. Educating perfect generations, who are the future of the country, is a necessity that ensures the perfection of not only the family, but the entire society, and the bright future of the people. That is why the master poet in his work lists the necessary conditions for a true patriot one by one. According to the poet, a person who defends the country must be mature and his armour must be ready anytime. In the same way, he should raise a generation to continue his profession and patriotic traditions, that is, he should have a son to take his place. The poet thinks about this in his poems “Ýat ýagşy”, “Göze myhmandyr”, “Aty gerek”:

Ýigidiň  dünýäde   üçdür   myrady,

Mahbup gerek, ýarag gerek, at ýagşy. [2, p. 493]

Ýürekleri at başy dek batyrlar,

Hatynça ýok, at-ýaragy bolmasa. [2, p. 495]

At gazanar goç ýigidiň

Owwal bedew aty gerek.

Gelene garşy çykmaga

Ýagşy muhupbeti gerek. [2, p. 235]

Even in his poems about the moral integrity of his person, he never loses his value because the interests of the people are taken first. In such poems, the qualities that form the basis of the Turkmen people’s life, the ideas about moral standards are artistically expressed. His “Il ýagşy”, “Baş üstüne”, “Bolar sen”, “Zor bolar”, “Ýoluksa”, “Ýör biläni”, “Iliňni”, “Başy gerekdir” poems it is talked about what kind of character brave men adorn.

Döwlet gonsa bolajagyň başyna,

Hemaýaty— ili gerek daşyna,

Ýigit özün mälim eder işinde,

Gylyjynda, zybanynda bellidir. [2, p. 320]

Magtymguly, söweş bolar,

Ýigidiň syry paş bolar,

Ýa baş berer, ýa baş alar,

Goçaklar ýoldaş üstünde. [2, p. 233]

Today, the poet’s ” Çoh garaşan ajap eýýamy (Much expected era)” came. Today, during the Revival of the new era of the Powerful state, the wise man Magtymguly Pyragy’s poems are the voice of Turkmen’s heart. This means that the dream of a wise man has come true. During the Revival of the new Era of Powerful state, the poems, which reached the highest value, revealed the reputation of the poet to the world. A new life has begun for the gifted poet. His poetry is a “diamond crown with a thousand colours”, and with its beauty, it invites us to white paths, throws light on our path. Dreams made three centuries ago came true during the period of Turkmen independence. All the tribes unite, become one soul, one body, live in unity under the shadow of our green Flag, which goes back to our father Oguz Khan. Friendship and brotherhood blesses the country.

The poetry of Turkmen literature and classical poets serves as a source for educating the young generation in the national spirit. In particular, the works of a wise word master like Magtymguly Pyragy are an invaluable guide for us. All aspects of life are discussed in the poet’s work. Namely, poems about parenting occupy a large part of his poetry. The poet says: ” Ulalanda iş hoş ýakmaz, ýaşlykda köýmän ýigide.” The poet bases his thoughts in his instructive poems on the manners and lifestyle of the people. If you look at any poem he wrote on any topic, you can see that the idea in the poem has a folk poetical basis. In the poems about the education of young generation, it can be seen that the people were guided by the school of ethics created by the people to make the young generation pure moral and patriotic people. Because among the people, there are many legends and stories about the fact that the education of the generation should start from a young age, and that the formation of an educated generation is a condition for the future of the family and the entire society. Magtymguly Pyragy is also a poet who has left an indelible mark in the history of Turkmen literature as a master of words, who captured the people’s thoughts and expressed them artistically.

Poems of the master poet are of great importance in imparting moral education to the young generation, developing in them the feelings of patriotism, unity, brotherhood, and forming such wonderful qualities as fairness and integrity. In every poem of the poet, one can feel the boundless love for the Motherland. Magtymguly Pyragy’s wise lines about loving the Motherland and protecting it as much as possible become a guide in the work of developing the sacred love for our motherland in young people. Therefore, they are an invaluable treasure in educating the youth worthy of our nation and era, promoting nationalism, and adhering to our principles of statehood. In his works, Magtymguly mentions that the greatest duty is to create a perfect generation in the Turkmen family:

Ýürek daýanjydyr ogul zürýady,

Şirin mahbup erer süňňüň kuwwaty,

Ýigidiň dünýäde üçdür myrady,

Mahbup gerek, ýarag gerek, at ýagşy. [6, p. 493]

Huda  berse  sagadatly  bir  perzent,

Garrygan   çagyňda  ýaş  eder seni. [6, p. 466] –

In his lines, having a perfect descendant is a parent’s greatest dream and hope for a bright future.

The poet was guided by the idea that in educating the young generation, first of all, the interests of the nation should be taken into account, they should benefit their country and people. He encouraged the people to love the Motherland, understand its value, and protect it as much as possible, following the wise words of the people: ” Goç ýigide toýdur-baýram, Her iş gelse il biläni.”

The content of Magtymguly’s moral-educative poems and his thoughts are devoted to the noble qualities of humanity, the beauties and wonders of the human spirit. By making extensive use of the rich experience of the people in the field of humanism, manners, and culture, he groomed and organized them in accordance with the requirements of the time, and also developed and enriched them. Above all, he expressed them in a perfect form, with highly artistic, enchanting and captivating poetry.

Aryp bolsaň, aslyn sorma ýigidiň,

Edebinde, ekramynda bellidir. [6,  p. 320]

— The lines express the qualities that make a person human. Also, the poet’s lines expressing the correct speech are of great value in admonishing the younger generation:

Magtymguly, imdi özüňni gözle,

Haýyr işiňi artdyr, ýamany düzle,

Aklyň bolsa, märekede az sözle,

Köp söz seni il içinde har eýlär [6,  p. 482]

Considering our mother tongue as the mirror of all sciences, our ancestors bequeathed to the generations that even if you know a hundred languages, you should not forget your mother tongue. Language is the greatest national value that people have cultivated and perfected over the centuries. Our hero Arkadag in the novel “Döwlet guşy” says about our mother tongue: “We have a rich, poetic language. This tells about the richness and poetry of the soul of our people, because the soul of the nation lives in the language. The language is an expression of the national structure, spiritual life, dreams, desires, and feelings of the people” [5, p. 6]. Our rich, poetic language, unique literary works are the main means of cultivating love and respect for our mother tongue and our nationality.

During the revival of the new Era of a Powerful State, special attention is paid to the development of our national culture and traditions, whose broad content, artistry and historical roots are intertwined with deeper moments. In this case, the poetry of the wise poet is exemplary. Because these poems encourage speaking little but long. It is said that a person’s character is recognized by his words and speech.

Philosophical views and moral concepts related to life expressed by the wise poet in his poems are a model school not only for the younger generation, but also for older people. Those thoughts and lines of admonition are passed down from generation to generation and are taught to young people in the family and in educational institutions. Awakening good hopes and dreams in hearts, choosing only the right path, staying away from bad habits are the issues that are widely discussed in the poems of the poet. We hope that our youth will become a literate and well-educated generation, and that they will make a worthy contribution to the wealth of world science, technology and culture achievements.  Based on science and education, we need to improve the education and upbringing of young people on the basis of ancient traditions and universal values of the Turkmen people.

They came knowing that forbidden things will not lead to good, they will have to regret later and they will bring many troubles.  In education, we must first of all be guided by our national values and interests.  The spiritual and material values, the principles governing social relations, the power of social thought, noble family traditions, respect for elders, respect for parents, hospitality, honesty, and fairness, which have been collected and created by our loving people over the centuries, are the main issues of education given to young people.

Our main goal is to educate generations of true patriots who know the past of our people, who are proud of the achievements of their state, who are scientific and educated, and who are able to make our Motherland even better.

Directing the positive initiatives to the national education system for the bright future of the country is of great importance in the formation of an educated, healthy and intelligent young generation.
