Small business is known as a basis of market economy, and the level of economy development depends directly on the level of small business development. At present, both the state and entrepreneurs themselves spend a lot of efforts and funds on supporting small business inRussia.

But at the same time the development of small business is simply impossible without competition, which, as we know, is the engine of progress. Competitive advantages of the organization at present can provide only advanced technology. That’s why, activity of small businesses is becoming increasingly relevant in the field of financial support.

Today, the market has a wide range of automation programs for various aspects of activity, such as 1C: Accounting, Aubi, SuperManager, INFO – Accountant, FOLI, Sail-Accounting, Infinity – Accounting, ABACUS, Turbo-Accountant, BOSS, BEST, ACCORD. Each of them meets all the latest requirements. With such a wealth of choice, the task is to reduce to choosing no more expensive or cheaper program, namely to choose the right one. The best solution in such situations is to get advice from specialists who have knowledge in the field of computer accounting and which you trust. But again, and if there aren’t such specialists? [1]

The article proposes a methodology for evaluating software products for small businesses, within which we can model variants of options.

The main implementations of hierarchy models are matrices of pair judgments. For each of the lower levels one matrix for each element, the adjacent level. [2]

At the first stage, a matrix of judgments is constructed that ranks the criteria according to the degree of importance with respect to the goal – the choice of software product.

Based on the results of such an assessment, one can judge the importance of such a criterion as the accompanying software product.

If we talk about other criteria, then we can note the following.

Functionality of the software means – a set of PS properties determined by the presence of the specific features and a set of functions capable of satisfying the specified or implied quality requirements along with it as the reliability of a technical system.

Security – the ability of MS components to protect programs and information from any negative impacts.

The effectiveness of a software tool is a set of PS properties that characterizes the aspects of its fitness level that are related to the nature and time of use of resources required under specified operating conditions.

The practicality of the PS is a property of the PS causing the complexity of its understanding, study and use, as well as attractiveness for users when used under specified conditions. [3]

The next step in the study was to compare the alternatives (software products) with each other for each criterion separately.

First, we compared all products according to the first criterion – cost.

As a result, the conclusion was drawn that, according to the first criterion, the best software product is PP_3 – OK-WAREHOUSE: Warehouse accounting and trade, which has a priority equal to 33% of 100%. Further, a comparison of the alternatives according to the second criterion is made.

As a result, the conclusion was drawn that according to the second criterion, the best software products are PP_4 (“Goods-Money-Goods”) and PP_5 (“Warehouse and Realization”), which have 26.8% of 100% priority compared to others.

The next step was to compare the alternatives according to the third criterion.

As a result, we concluded that according to the third criterion, the best software products are PP_1 (Atoneks Warehouse) and PP_3 OK-STORAGE: Warehouse accounting and trade), which have 25.6% of 100% priority compared to others.

At the next stage, a comparison of the alternatives according to the fourth criterion is made.

As a result, according to the third criterion, the best software products are PP_1 (“Atoneks” Warehouse) and PP_4 (“Goods-Money-Goods”), having priorities as compared to others, equal to 27.3% of 100%.

In the next stage, a comparison of the alternatives is made according to the fifth criterion, according to which it can be judged that the best software product is PP_1 (Atoneks Warehouse), which has a priority of 26.6% of 100%.

During the course of all procedures for expert evaluation of software products, we obtained the final results. It can be concluded that the software product OK-WAREHOUSE: Warehouse accounting and trade) was the most preferable by different criteria in comparison with other alternatives. [4]

Comparative analysis of the parameters of these programs was carried out. As a result of this comparison, it was revealed that the most functional application is the OK-STOCK application: Warehouse accounting and trade). We should also note the low price of this program, which is undoubtedly a positive factor for small businesses. But all this does not mean that it is absolutely necessary to use this program at the enterprise as it is imposed by wide advertising propaganda.
