Abstract
The results of these studies indicate the important role of the activation of proteolytic processes in the development of local and systemic signs of peritonitis. Local excessive activation of nonspecific proteases that occurs in severe peritonitis can result in proteolytic activation system in the blood. Further activation of proteases can contribute to the formation and organopathology that was demonstrated by the changes in the lungs used as the primary target organs for the current study.
