Abstract
This research is dedicated to the analysis of the genre matrix of the Jake Simons spy novel “The Pure”. In the investigation the attempt is taken to analyze the development of the spy novel genre at the beginning of the XXI st century in the context of historic events, taking into account the Jake Simons work in the state intelligence service. The author analyzes Jake Simon’s spy novel from the point of view of its genre identification, genre matrix and its further impact on the development of the English spy novel.
