AbstractThe article offers an examination of a musical composition by the example of Giuseppe Tartini’s ‘Violin Sonata in G minor’ at the intersection of philosophy of music and psychoanalysis (classical and structural). By using the synthetic method, the authors created a non-standard layout for theoretical modelling of musical masterpieces. Describing peculiarities of the composer’s biography, the authors came to a conclusion that the latter suffered from latent neurosis that had defined specific features of his masterpiece: his libido sublimes in the musical form, providing the possibility to structure his work as ‘intra-compositional coitus’. Talking about intersemiotic transmutation, the authors conclude that it is fundamentally impossible to ‘structure the Lacanian unconscious’ into a narrative via music so that it becomes falsifiable. However, an hypothesis is suggested that it may be possible to apply Steiner’s eurithmy (second-order type) for potential conversion of such kind, as a philosophical lab experiment. Keywords: ecphrasis, eurythmy., linguisterie, music, neurosis, psychoanalysis, sublimation
