AbstractThe article raises the question about the origin of the social doctrine of the Russian Orthodox Church – or rather, the most important stage, which was initiated by social issues as such. The authors attempt to prove that in fact the complaints of theologians modernists in the mid-twentieth century to social issues took place both endogenous and exogenous reasons. The article does not claim to be comprehensive and detailed description of the components of the concept of "Communist Christianity", because it focuses exclusively on the basic moments – the "theology of revolution", "misologie", "social diakonia".Keywords: church, ministry, modernists, Orthodox theology, revolution, social doctrine of the Communist Christianity
