PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS WITH COMPONENT SOUL IN ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES

AbstractThe article deals with the comparison of English phraseological units - with the component“soul” and their Russian equivalents. It is shown that a lot of English phraseological units have the same meaning and composition as their Russian analogues in spite of the national, linguistic and cultural differences. In both languages “soul” is realized as a substance associated with God, as innermost feelings and internal energy.Keywords: a lexical-semantic variant, equivalent, phraseological unit, soul.
