Abstract
The article analyzes some aspects of the criminal characteristics of embezzlements on transport. The text of the article provides a general analysis of the criminality on transport according to the data of Zabaykalsky linear DIA (the Department of Internal Affair), demonstrates the features of characterization of this category of cases, and mentions the difficulties emerging in characterization of embezzlements on transport. It is pointed that the causes and conditions of committing this type of crime depend on the specifics of functioning of the transport system and consist of the following: high capacity coefficient of passengers and baggage, the presence of a significant amount of transported material values, the dynamics of the movement of passengers and baggage in space and in time and high latency of the crimes.
