Abstract
The article deals with the executive system and administrative organization of the Vyatka province in the beginning of the nineteenth century. The executive system of the Vyatka province wasn’t very cumbrous, but at the same time it had all institutions, necessary for regulation of the functioning of the province. The bodies of self-government were not an appendage of local authorities, showing independence in solving problems of their jurisdiction. The Vyatka inhabitants considered them to be an effective instrument for protecting their rights and interests. Military troops, located on the territory of the Vyatka province, were carrying mainly administrative functions.
