AbstractIn the article the traditional concept of " growth poles " ( "points of growth " ) is applied to the regional economy of Russia today. Two basic approaches to the definition of the concept of growth poles are set. It is shown that support for the " growth poles " in the economy of the region is currently being implemented through the creation of regional clusters and innovation infrastructure related facilities.Keywords: cluster, government innovation policies, growth pole, innovation infrastructure, regional economics
